How to explain love to an iPhone is a performance where an actor continuously asks Siri, the iPhone virtual voice assistant, questions about love. By utilizing the built-in “Hey Siri” voice control feature on the iPhone, the actor’s voice in the video activates Siri, creating an interaction between the human and the machine, resulting in a video installation and a performance involving the machine.  

The language of love is one of the most difficult aspects for human consciousness to grasp through reason. However, as a language model, Siri can assist us in making phone calls, setting reminders, playing music, telling us whether or not to bring an umbrella when going out, and even occasionally telling jokes. It seems intelligent, so it should also understand the meaning of love.

愛情的語言是人類意識中最難透過理性掌握的事物。然而，作為一個語言模型，Siri 能夠幫助我們打電話給某人、提醒代辦事項、播放音樂、告訴我們出門要不要帶傘，偶爾還會講笑話。好像很有智慧，所以應該也了解愛的意義吧。
